The Magician and the Surgeon

For this project, the first photo will be of a building in downtown Deland, preferably an historic house or building. I want to capture the history of Deland. I feel that in the hustle and bustle of life/college there are a lot of distractions, and it's very easy to miss the historic things around you. For example, being here at Stetson, I take for granted the history of Deland. I walk downtown every Tuesday to get ice cream and I never stop and look around at all the buildings and think about the historic side of it all. So, once again, for the first photo it will be a picture of an historic building. For the second photo, I plan on taking a photo of a reflection of another building in a window or a puddle to show that even when you are looking at something there is more to it (again, being at Stetson in Deland, it's so easy to walk downtown and miss the historic history of Deland). For me history is very important so this project made me really excited to look deeper into Deland and the buildings all around us.
